PARTY ET CIE EVENTS - A HANUKKAH GATHERING
When we decided to throw a Hanukkah gathering, we knew exactly who to turn to for ideas and advice. Israeli born, Toronto bred influencer Maya Fitzpatrick of Mayahoodblog is our go to gal for all things Festival of Lights! Maya was able to advise us on the decor, all the delicacies, and the Jewish traditions of Hanukkah.
We wanted to throw a casual party to encourage guests to mingle and move around, so we decided to do a buffet style setup. This idea serendipitously coincided with the arrival of our Hanukkah banners, which were the perfect backdrop to attract guests to our fantastic buffet selections! Our barn board buffet table provided a beautiful rustic backdrop, on which we placed at one end a compote-style floral arrangement filled with a selection of greenery and white spray roses. In keeping with our blue and silver colour scheme, we decided to use our Oh Happy Day plates in Pool Blue and Silver, Iridescent Dot Dinner Napkins, and Silver Cups. We also brought out our best utensils: our Silver Premium Rock Cutlery
Maya arrived at the party with her homemade Traditional Latkes served with sour cream and applesauce, for which the recipe can be found on her blog. Maya also brought her latest recipe, Smoked Salmon and Radishes on Pumpernickel Toast Points, which is a twist on a classic and always crowd-pleasing combination of radishes, butter and salt. For some sweet offerings, we turned to Sweet Corner Gift, who specializes in Jewish confections. We picked up some Sofganyot, a traditional Jewish fried donut filled with jelly, and a beautiful Challah which we sliced and served on a wooden platter. And of course no Hanukkah party would be complete without some Chocolate Gelt (Chocolate coins wrapped in shiny foil, traditionally handed out to children) and a sprinkling of dreidels!
The guests enjoyed snacking on the little bites, while mixing and mingling. Enjoy the images of our event below!
