ABOUT
Hi! My name is Andrea, and I’m the founder and owner of Party et Cie. Many eons, and what feels like a lifetime ago, I left my native Toronto, and moved to New York City to study fashion design. My childhood had always been filled with sewing, drawing, crafting and above all, creating. I was in my element. In the mid 2000’s, I finished my studies and launched my own line. I was living out my childhood dream as a fashion designer in New York City. It was tough times to start but in addition to a lot of hard work, sleepless nights and pounding the pavement, I was fortunate enough to be caught in the economic and celebrity bubble. My designs were featured in magazines such as Nylon, Lucky, Marie Claire, and People, and could be found on the arms of celebrities like Jessica Alba, Lindsay Lohan and Beyoncé. I sold to boutiques and department stores in Canada, the United States, and internationally. Things were going swimmingly.
Then the economic collapse of 2008 happened. That very same year, however, I married the love of my life, and soon after we had our first child. I had always intended to be a stay at home mom. My husband was offered a wonderful job in Toronto, so I closed up shop and we moved back home. We had two more children, and although life was chaotic, being a stay at home mom was my most rewarding job thus far.
But, I still felt the need to create. I decided to channel my creative compulsions into my children’s parties, by way of planning, decorating, and cake creating. My love for event planning grew, and soon I was volunteering to host holiday parties, bridal showers, baby showers and birthdays for friends and family alike. However, I was frustrated at the lack of selection and availability of tasteful party supplies in Canada, and I often had to piece together my “party visions” from several different sources. I determined that there needed to be one place in Canada that offered an extensive selection of tasteful party supplies, and so Party et Cie was conceived. My aim is to help like minded individuals to achieve their “party visions” for their loved ones, and through the blog, I am hoping to give fun party styling tips, as well as demonstrate interesting diy projects. I hope you enjoy this journey.
Andrea xoxo
