PARTY ET CIE EVENTS - A CANDYLAND PARTY
Peanut butter and jelly, coffee and donuts, wine and cheese...kids and candy: two things that are inextricably linked! At least once in your childhood, you probably came across the Candyland Game - at least I did, and my kids certainly have. It's a fascinating concept to every child - a world completely made up of candy! We decided for this party that we wanted to create a magical tablescape where everything was candy ... the plates, the colors, the decor ... and even the foliage!
We laid the table with a light pink tablecloth. For the place setting, we used our Ballet Large Plates as a base, and layered on our Bon Bon Plates. We then placed beside it our candy striped Neon Rose Striped Dinner Napkins, and used a mix of our Pink and Mint Wooden Cutlery. For cups, we chose our cotton-candy hued Rainbow Ombré Cups, and added our Pink Striped Straws.
If you've been following along on our blog, you have probably seen that we love fresh blooms. But in our Candyland, lollipops ARE the blooms, so we thought it would be fun to create "Lollipop Plant" centerpieces (don't worry, we'll be posting a DIY blog post on this shortly).
To add more fun candy-licious details to the table, we took a cue from one of our favorite blogs, Oh Happy Day, and DIY'd a few candy balloons (5" balloons wrapped in iridescent cellophane and tied with a ribbon to resemble bon bons), and placed them haphazardly down the center. Lastly, we scattered rainbow confetti to resemble candy buttons.
For a parting gift, we created loot bag "Bon Bons" with pretty iridescent cellophane and tied with blush silk bias cut ribbon. We filled them with little treats: erasers, pencils, stickers, and of course, candy.
