PARTY ET CIE EVENTS - A FALL PLUM FÊTE

Fall is probably our favourite season - it provides so many opportunities for cozy nights in with close friends and family.  We love enjoying the last of the dahlias, deeply flavoured cheeses, and richly coloured fruits.  The colour palate we picked for this party was inspired by late summer sunsets and fall's cool, breezy nights ... think rich plums and lavenders, dusty roses, deep reds, charcoals and fuschias.

We pulled together this cozy evening with our Harlow and Grey Amethyst and Manhattan collections, which feature watercolour shades of light purple, dusty pinks and rose gold, and our rose gold cutlery.  We decorated the centre of the table with a compote-style floral arrangement containing fuschia dahlias, purple smoke bush, pink hydrangeas, plum cockscomb and other fall greenery, and scattered the table with smoky mirrored votives, and charcoal and deep pink taper candles.   

There's nothing better to dig into on a cool autumn night than some rich and flavourful cheeses such as manchego and aged blue, and a selection of salumi and dry coppa.  We scattered around some biscuits and breads, roasted nuts, dried fruits, olives and black grapes.  To add more colour to the table and to complement the cheeses, we picked some richly-hued fruits: pomegranate, D'Anjou and Bartlett pears, red plums, Honeycrisp apples, and figs, and left a cutting board for guests to cut open fresh fruit themselves.  And lastly, throw in some warmth-evoking spicy and peppery red wine offerings to complete the flavour palate.

To finish off on a fall-inspired sweet note, we baked a plum tart using this King Arthur Flour's Berry torte recipe as a base, but substituted in sliced black plums in a classic, circular pattern, topped off with a simple sprinkling of confectioner's sugar.  Below the images we have all our credits and sources listed.  We hope the pictures below inspire you to host a cozy night in, soon!
